A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Pressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-863-001).
(2)
Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-863-002).
(3)
Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Safety Precautions
(1)
Put the warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
(2)
Make sure that the wheel chocks are in position.
(3)
Set the parking brake to the OFF position
(4)
On the panel 110VU, make sure that the PARK BRK control switch 73GG is in the OFF position.

A. Inspection of the Brake
(1)
Make sure that there are no leaks on the Normal braking system.
(a)
On the panel 402VU, set the A/SKID & NOSE WHEEL switch to ON.
(b)
Push the brake pedals more than once.
(c)
Make sure that there are no leaks on the piston housing, the pistons and the hydraulic lines.
(2)
Make sure that there are no leaks in the alternate braking system.
(a)
On the panel 402VU, set the A/SKID & NOSE WHEEL switch to OFF.
(b)
Push the brake pedals more than once.
(c)
Make sure that there are no leaks on the piston housing, the pistons and the hydraulic lines.
(3)
Make sure that the bleed plugs, the temperature sensor and the self-sealing couplings are in the correct position.

(4) With the brakes on, make sure that the wear indicators are in the limits.
NOTE : Measure the wear pin when the brake is cold (Brake temperature

less than 60 deg.C).
NOTE : When the end of either wear pin aligns with the machined
____ surface of the piston housing, the heat pack is fully worn. You must replace the brake unit (Ref. TASK 32-42-27-000-001). (Ref. Fig. 601/TASK 32-42-27-991-002-A)
NOTE : For a new brake, measure the distance between the end of the
____ wear pin and the machined surface of the piston housing. This distance must be 50mm (1.97 in) maximum. If more than the maximun value replace the brake (Ref. TASK 32-42-27-000-001) (Ref. TASK 32-42-27-400-001). (Ref. Fig. 601/TASK 32-42-27-991-002-A)
NOTE : The brake units usually have two wear pins.
____ If you find a brake that does not have the two wear pins: -the brake is serviceable if there is one wear pin and the wear pin is in the limits.
R -you must deactivate the brake if there is no wear pin on the R brake unit (Ref. TASK 32-42-00-040-003) .
