WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) If the downlock pins are not installed in the nose and main landing gear, do this task: Landing
Gear Downlock Pins Installation, TASK 32-00-01-480-801.

(4) Remove the pressure from the system B hydraulic reservoir. To remove the pressure, do this

F. Flap Power Drive Unit Removal

(1) Open this circuit breaker and install safety tag:

(2) Disconnect the electrical connector [18] from the electric motor [19].

(3) Disconnect the three hydraulic lines [1] and the case drain line [20] from the hydraulic motor
[22]:
(a) Disconnect the hydraulic lines [1].
(b) Install caps on the hydraulic lines [1].
(c) Disconnect the case drain line [20].
(d) Install a cap on the case drain line [20].
(e) Install plugs in the ports on the hydraulic motor [22].

(4) Remove the nut [17], washers [16] and screw [15] that attach the jumper wire [13] to the electric
motor [18].

(5) Remove the lower pan [25] from the flap control unit [23]:
(a) Remove the screws [24] that attach the lower pan [25] to the flap control unit [23].
(b) Remove the lower pan [25].

(6) Install the rig pin kit, SPL-1585, flap actuator rig pin, through the cam follower arm [27] and the
valve cam [26].

(7) Install the clamp set, SPL-1726 on the torque tubes [12] on both sides of the power drive unit [21].

(8) Disconnect the torque tubes [12] from the power drive unit [21]:

(a) Remove the screws [35] that attach the coupling sleeves [36] to the splined couplings [37]
on the torque tubes [12].
(b) Move the coupling sleeves [36] off the splined couplings [37].

(9) Disconnect the cables [6] from the cables [2] on the flap control unit [23]:
NOTE: The lower cables are WFFA and the upper cables are WFFB.
(a) Install a label on the cables [2] to identify them.
(b) Remove the clips [3] from the turnbuckles [4].
