 (c)  Move the trunnion link so that the shock strut will not touch it (Stage 2, Fig. 405). Attach the trunnion link in position to clear the gear.
 CAUTION:_______ DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE TO REMOVE THE AFT TRUNNION JOURNAL OF THE SHOCK STRUT FROM THE AFT TRUNNION BEARING. TOO MUCH FORCE
 CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TWO PARTS.
 (d) (e) (f) (g)  Move the shock strut (13) carefully forward so that the aft trunnion journal moves out of the aft trunnion bearing (12), (Fig. 408).When the aft trunnion journal is clear of the aft trunnion bearing (12), roll the landing gear wheel in the aft direction to lower the shock strut (13) until it is clear of the wheel well (Stage 2, Fig. 405).While a minimum of three persons holds the shock strut (13), move the landing gear out from below the airplane (Stage 3, Fig. 405).Put the landing gear on a support.
 NOTE:____ Use care not to permit the shimmy damper to touch the ground when the landing gear is supported.

 (8)  Remove the aft trunnion bearing (12) and the grease seal (10) from
 the forward side of the main landing gear support beam (Fig. 408).

 (9)  Remove the trunnion link (9) and the forward trunnion bearing
 assembly (3), (Stage 4, Fig.  405) and (Fig. 407).
 (a)  Remove the locking key (2) from the bering support fitting (8).
 (b)  Loosen and remove the forward bearing assembly (3) and the
 trunnion link (9).
 (c)  Remove the lock bolt (6).

Remove the trunnion bearing fuse bolt (7) and the key washer (1).

 (e)  
Remove the bearing assembly (3) from the trunnion link (9).

 Remove corrosion and primer from the outer surface of the aft trunnion bearing (12) and the inner surfaces of the bearing housing of the support beam (Fig. 408).

 Lightly lubricate the bearing surfaces of the aft trunnion bearing and the aft trunnion journal of the shock strut with grease.
