 E.  If a fuel quantity indicator shows the word ERR but no error code, it is necessary to correct this condition. This condition shows that the fuel quantity indicator measures a capacitance in the tank unit less than the minimum for an empty fuel tank. With this condition, one of the tank units is loose or it is necessary to do the system test or the trim procedure for the fuel quantity indicating system.
 F.  If the value on an indicator changes suddenly, do a check for water in the applicable fuel tank (Ref 12-11-00/301).
 G.  An indicator in the control cabin is a fuel quantity indicator.____An indicator in the refuel control panel (P15) on the wing is a refuel
______ quantity indicator.

 B.  Procedure
 S 865-002-003
 (1)  Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:
 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) QTY
 2) EP GND FUELING

 S 975-003-003
 (2)  
Write the values shown on the fuel quantity indicators.

 S 715-004-003

 (3)  
Push and hold the QTY TEST switch adjacent to the fuel quantity indicators.

 S 715-005-003

 (4)  
Make sure the fuel quantity indicators go to a value of zero and show ERR 4 on the display.

 NOTE: ERR 4 will not show on MOD 4 or subsequent indicators
____ unless you hold the QTY TEST switch for more than 30 seconds. The indicator will show ERR 2 on the display if the indicator has error code 3 in its memory.

 (a)  
The fuel quantity indicators show all segments of the display for two seconds.

 (b)  
The fuel quantity indicators show no segments for two seconds.

 (c)  
The fuel quantity indicators show each error code in the indicator memory for two seconds each.

 (d)  
The fuel quantity indicators show the tank capacity value.

 (e)  
The fuel quantity indicators show the same value that you wrote before this step with a tolerance of |10 pounds (|10 kilograms).

Open the access door, 6540, for the refuel control panel (P15).

Write the values shown on the refuel quantity indicators.

Set and hold the test switch to TEST GAGES.
