Remove the power from the rudder hydraulic systems (Ref 27-21-00/201).

Put the washer and the right bearing housing on the quadrant shaft.

Install the washer and nut on the right side of the quadrant shaft.

Tighten the nut to 190-280 pound-inches.

Install a cotter pin.

Put the quadrant on the shaft with the input crank pointed in the left direction.

Install the bolts, washers and nuts to hold the quadrant to the quadrant shaft.

Put the left bearing housing on the quadrant shaft.

Install the bolts and washers to hold the two bearing housings to the structure.

 (7)  S 824-024Turn the quadrant and make sure the quadrant shaft moves freely in the bearing housings.
 (8)  S 434-025Connect cables RA and RB to the quadrant and install the cable retainers with screws, washers, and nuts.
 (9)  S 434-026Connect cables RA and RB at the turnbuckles.

 Tighten the turnbuckles until the cables are not loose.

 Connect the input rod to the input crank with the bolt, the washers, and the nut.

 Remove rig pin R-3.

 Adjust cables RA and RB to the tension shown in Figure 402.
