Assemble the rudder pedals and the bellcranks with the shaft support bracket.

Put the rudder pedal assembly in its position in the airplane.

Apply corrosion preventive compound to the support shaft for the rudder pedals.

 (4)  Install the support shaft with head inboard through the rudder pedal assembly.
 NOTE: Use one or more washers at each end of the support shaft to
____ keep the threads of the support shaft out of the bellcrank bearing. Do not tighten the nut for the support shaft.

Do these steps to attach the shaft support bracket to the airplane:

 (a)  
At the forward end of the shaft support bracket, do these steps: 1) Put one or two shims (3) (solid or laminated) between the

 bottom of the shaft support bracket and the mating
 structure.
 2) Put the radius filler (2) in its position.
 3) Install the bolts (1), radius fillers (4), washers (5), and
 nuts (6).
 4) Tighten the nuts.

 (b)  At the aft end of the shaft support bracket, do these steps: 1) Put the radius fillers (2) in their positions. 2) Install the bolts (1), radius fillers (3), washers (4), and
 nuts (5).
 3) Tighten the nuts.

Tighten the support shaft nut to 200 to 300 pound-inches.

Install the cotter pin for the support shaft nut.

Put rig pins R-3 and R-4 through the forward rig pin holes of the two forward quadrants.

Set the rudder pedals at the middle of their travel.

 Put rig pins R-1 and R-2 through the pedal arms.

 Connect the quadrant pushrods to the pedal arms.

Tighten the nuts to 110 to 150 pound-inchs.

Install cotter pins on the nuts.
