(17) Do these steps to connect the oil supply tube for the No. 4 and No. 5 bearing to the oil supply tube:
(a)
Lightly lubricate the threads of the oil supply tube for the
No. 4 and No. 5 bearing with oil, CFMI SB 79-001.
(b)
Loosely connect the oil supply tube for the No. 4 and No. 5 bearing to the oil supply tube. 1) Make sure the guide bushing on the oil supply tube engages
in the turbine frame. 2) Make sure the oil supply tube is aligned with the oil supply tube for the aft sump.

(18) Do these steps to tighten the oil supply tubes:
(a) Make sure the oil supply tube for the No. 4 and No. 5 bearings and the oil supply tube for the aft sump are installed with no stress on the two tubes.
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS; ONE TO

HOLD THE NIPPLE FITTING AND ONE TO TIGHTEN THE COUPLING
NUT. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(b)
ENGINES WITHOUT CFMI SB 72-437; Tighten the tubes to 135-150 pound-inches (15-17 Newton meters) 1) Install a lockwire to the tube unions.
(c)
ENGINES WITH CFMI SB 72-437; Tighten the tubes to 265-283 pound-inches (30-32 Newton meters) 1) Install a lockwire to the tube unions.

(19) Do these steps to attach the clamp to the oil supply tube (Fig. 703):
(a)
Install the clamp on the oil supply tube.
(b)
Lightly lubricate the threads of the bolt with grease, GP460, Aeroshell 8.

(c) Use the bolt and the nut to attach the clamp to the support on the inner hub of the LPT frame. 1) Tighten the nut to 35-40 pound-inches
(4.0-4.5 Newton meters).

(20) ENGINES WITH CFMI SB 72-437; Do these steps to install the oil supply tube for the damped No. 5 bearing (Fig. 702):
(a) Do these steps to install the nipple on the oil inlet cover at the 7 o'clock position: 1) Lightly lubricate a new O-ring with oil, CFMI SB 79-001. 2) Use a seal fitting tool set 856A3330 to install the O-ring
on the nipple. 3) Lightly lubricate the threads of the nipple with oil, CFMI SB 79-001. 4) Use your hand to seat the nipple on the oil inlet cover at the 7 o'clock position.
5) Tighten the nipple to 175-195 pound-inches (20-22 Newton meters). a) Install a lockwire to the nipple.
(b) Do these steps to install the oil supply tube for the damped
No. 5 bearing:
1) Lightly lubricate the threads of the nipple and the
connector with oil, CFMI SB 79-001. 2) Loosely install the oil supply tube for the damped No. 5 bearing to the nipple and the connector.
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
_______ ONE TO HOLD THE NIPPLE AND ONE TO TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
3) Tighten the oil supply tube for the damped No. 5 bearing at the nipple on the oil inlet cover to 88-106 pound-inches (10-12 Newton meters).
