SUBTASK 27-41-31-420-001
(1) Install the hinge fitting [24]:
(a) Lubricate the bolt threads of bolt [29] and bolt [40] with grease, D00633.
(b) Put the hinge fitting [24] in its position.
(c) Install the bolt [29], washer [30] (under the bolt), washers [31] (3 maximum under nut), nut
[32].
1) Tighten the nut [32] to 2200 in-lb (248.6 Nm) -- 3300 in-lb (372.8 Nm).
2) Install the new pin [33].
NOTE: Tighten nut [32] if it is necessary to get the pin hole alignment but do not
exceed 5300 in-lb (598.8 Nm).
(d) Install the bolt [41], washer [42] (under the bolt), washers [43] (3 maximum under nut), and
nut [44].
1) Tighten the nut [44] to 6450 in-lb (728.7 Nm) -- 6400 in-lb (723.1 Nm).
2) Install the new pin [45].
NOTE: Tighten nut [44] if it is necessary to get the pin hole alignment but do not
exceed 8600 in-lb (971.7 Nm).

(2) Install the fail safe link [10] to the hinge fitting [24]:
(a) Lubricate the bolt [12] and bolt threads with grease, D00633.
(b) Apply sealant, A00247 to the bolt [4] and bolt [9].
(c) Put the fail safe link [10] and filler [11] on the hinge fitting [24].
(d) Install the bolt [12], washer [13] (under the bolt), washers [14] (3 maximum under nut), and
nut [15].
1) Tighten the nut [15] to 1300 in-lb (146.9 Nm) -- 1530 in-lb (172.9 Nm).
2) Install the new pin [56].
NOTE: Tighten nut [15] if it is necessary to get the pin hole alignment but do not
exceed 2000 in-lb (226.0 Nm).
(e) Install the bolt [4], washer [5] (under the bolt), washer [6] (under the nut), and nut [7].
1) Tighten the nut [7] to 370 in-lb (41.8 Nm) -- 690 in-lb (78.0 Nm).
(f) Install the bolt [9], washer [5] (under the bolt), washers [6] (under the nut), bonding jumper
[8] (between washers [6]), and nuts [7].
1) Tighten the nut [7] to 370 in-lb (41.8 Nm) -- 690 in-lb (78.0 Nm).
2) Use bonding meter, COM-1550 to make sure the resistance between the free end of the
bonding jumper [8] and fail safe link [10] is not greater than 0.00216 ohms.
3) Apply sealant, A00247 at the end of the bonding jumper [8].

(3) Install the thrust brace fitting [51] on the hinge fitting [24]:
(a) Lubricate the bolts [47] with sealant, A00247.
(b) Put the thrust brace fitting [51] and shim [46] on the hinge fitting [24].
1) Remove or add shim [46] until you can install the bolt [34] and bolt [40] easily.

(c) Install the bolts [47], washers [48] (under the bolt), washers [49] (under the nut), and nuts
[50].
1) Tighten the nuts [50] to 630 in-lb (71.2 Nm) -- 1070 in-lb (120.9 Nm).

(4) Connect the upper thrust brace [38] and lower thrust brace [39] to the thrust brace fitting:
(a) Lubricate the bolt [34], bolt [40], and bolt threads with grease, D00015.
(b) Put the lower thrust brace [39] and upper thrust brace [38] in their positions.
