 E.  Procedure
 S 114-016
 (1)  Clean the surfaces of the hinges that touch the structure.
 WARNING: DO NOT GET SOLVENTS IN YOUR MOUTH, OR YOUR EYES, OR ON
_______ YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM SOLVENTS. SOLVENTS ARE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. SOLVENTS MAY BE FLAMMABLE OR HARMFUL TO THE ENVIRONMENT. REFER TO PRODUCT MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS (MSDS) AND LOCAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PROPER HANDLING PROCEDURES.
 (a)  Use MEK, MPK, Turco 4460 BK, BMS 11-7, or PD 680 on a soft cloth to clean the surfaces.

 (2)  
Install the door.

 (a)  
Put the door in the opening.

 (b)  
Attach the hinges to the structure with the three screws.

 (3)  
Adjust the latch.

 (a)  
Close and latch the door.

 (b)  
Make sure you can push the latch bolt 0.01 to 0.02 inch. 1) Change the shims at the latch to get the correct dimension.

 (4)  
See that the contour of the door aligns with the contour of the fuselage from -0.02 to +0.02 inch.

 (5)  
Do a check of the clearance around the door.

 (a)  
Make sure the door is closed and latched.

 (b)  
Make sure the clearance around the door is 0.04 to 0.12 inch.

 1)  Remove material from the edge of the door to get the correct dimension.

 2)  If you remove material, paint the area with Alodine (Ref 51-21-04/701).
 (c)  
Open the door.

 (d)  
See that there is 0.02 inch between the edges of the door and the fuselage (Section A-A).

 (6)  
Do a check of the electrical resistance between the door and the fuselage (Ref 20-22-01/601).

 (a)  
Close and latch the door.

 (b)  
Make sure there is less than 1.0 ohm between the door and the fuselage.

 (c)  
Clean the mating surfaces if the resistance is not correct: 1) Remove the screws from the hinges. 2) Clean the surfaces of the hinges that touch the structure. 3) Install the screws that hold the hinges to the structure. 4) Do a check of the electrical resistance again.

 (7)  
Examine the finish of the structure adjacent to the door.

 (8)  
Examine the teflon finish on the structure that touches the door.

 (9)  
Repair the finish if it is necessary.

 (a)  
Paint bare areas with the primer.

 (b)  
Repair the teflon finish to make it between 0.018 and 0.028 inch thick (Ref 51-24-04/701).

 (10)
 Open and close the door to make sure it operates correctly.
