Install the retainers that hold the hinge pins. 1) Make sure the seal goes above the retainer (Detail B). 2) Install the screws that hold the retainers.

 (4)  If you removed the hinge screws, install the door: (a) Put the door in the opening. (b) Put the hinge in the correct location on the fuselage. (c) Install the screws in the hinge. (d) Hold the door with the hold-open rods.

 (5)  Install the bonding jumpers. (a) Clean the areas where the bonding jumpers touch the door. (b) Connect the bonding jumpers to the door.

 (6)  Close and latch the door.

 (7)  Do a check of the adjustment of the door latches (Fig. 401). (a) Make sure the forward edge of the door aligns with the fuselage between 0.00 and -0.06 inch.
 (b) (c) (d)  Make sure the inboard corners of the door touch the stop fittings.Change the length of the U-bolts in the latches if it is necessary to get the correct conditions. 1) You can use the nuts on the U-bolts to change their length. 2) It is optional to change the thickness of the shims on the spacer block to make these adjustments.Do a check of the force that is necessary to open a latch.
 NOTE:____ The other latches can be locked or not locked for this check.
 (e)  1) Use a 10-inch screwdriver to open the latch. 2) The force that is necessary to open the door must be between 10 and 30 pounds.Make sure the latch engages the U-bolt with the dimension shown (Section B-B). 1) Change the washers on the latch pivot bolt if it is necessary to get this dimension.

 (8)  Do a check of the door fit (Fig. 402). (a) Make sure the correct clearances are around the door. 1) Remove material from the edge of the door if it is necessary to get the correct clearance.
