Install the new packings (6, 7, 8), lubricated with petrolatum, into the grooves on the motor/impeller unit (4).
NOTE:____The packing (6,7 and 8) are different sizes. Make sure to put the packing in the correct location.
(b)
Install two new packings (10), lubricated with petrolatum, on the coupling (9) (View A).
(c)
Put the coupling (9) with packing (10) (two locations) into the housing on top of the motor/impeller unit (4) (View A).
(d)
Install a new packing (14), lubricated with petrolatum, on the drain plug (13) (View A-A).
(e)
Torque the drain plug (13) 40 - 50 inch-pounds (4.5 - 5.6 Nm).
(f)
Install the lockwire on the pump drain plug (13).

(3) Do these steps to install the motor/impeller unit (4):
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL NOT TO BEND THE TRANSFER TUBE WHEN YOU PUT THE
_______ MOTOR/IMPELLER UNIT IN THE HOUSING. IF YOU BEND THE TRANSFER TUBE DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR/IMPELLER UNIT CAN OCCUR.
(a) Carefully push the motor/impeller unit (4) into the housing.

Do these steps to attach the motor/impeller unit (4) to the pump housing: 1) Put the bonding clip(s) with the bonding jumper(s) attached
into position on the motor/impeller unit (4) (View B-B). 2) Install the socket head screws (17) and washers (18) (five locations). 3) Install the lockwire on all the socket head screws (17) (View B-B).
(c)
Apply these protective finishes to any cleaned areas of the bonding clips that are not covered by the bonding jumper terminal. 1) Alodine 600 (AMM 51-21-04/701) 2) BMS 10-20 Type II primer (AMM 28-11-00/801)

PUMPS WITH A BRACKET MOUNTED ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR; Do these steps to install the bonding jumper (16) to the electrical connector bracket (View E):
(a)
Attach the bonding jumper (16) to the electrical connector bracket, with the bolt (21), washers (19) (two locations) and nut (20) (SWPM 20-20-00).
(b)
Apply alodine 600 to any cleaned areas of the electrical connector bracket that are not covered by the bonding jumper terminal (AMM 51-21-04/701).

Do these steps to fill the priming and vapor pump cavity with fuel:

(a)
Fill a syringe with fuel.
(b)
Inject the fuel into the pressure switch port.
(c)
Fuel will flow from the pressure switch port to the priming and vapor pump cavity.

(d) Continue to inject fuel into the port until you have added a minimum of 10 fluid ounces (300 ml) of fuel.

Do these steps to install the pressure switch (3) (View A):
(a)
Put a new packing (1) on the pressure switch (3).
(b)
Install the pressure switch (3) on the motor/impeller unit (4).
(c)
Tighten to a torque of 95 - 105 inch-pounds (10.7 - 11.8 Nm).
(d)
Install lockwire on the pressure switch (3).
