1)  Hold the light adjustment tool by the handle and push it against the light.
 NOTE: Attach the center of the vacuum cup to the center of
____ the lamp. Make sure the three locators are at 0 degrees, 120 degrees, and 240 degrees.
 2)  Adjust the light adjustment tool for the attitude of the airplane. a) Find the line on the airplane attitude scale that has
 the same value as the attitude of the airplane.
 NOTE: If the airplane is level, then the value of the
____ attitude of the airplane is 0 degrees.
 b)  Align the line on the airplane attitude scale with the airplane index mark.

 (2)  Adjust the light with the flaps in the 30-unit position.
 (a)  Turn the adjustment nut on the indexing rod to loosen the indexing rod.
 NOTE: Get access to the adjustment nut through the opening at

 the aft end of the fairing.

 (b)  Move the light until it is pointed down 6.5 |1 degrees.
 NOTE: The light adjustment tool shows the attitude of the
____ light. Move the light until the pointer aligns with the correct line on the light attitude scale.

 (c)  Turn the adjustment nut on the indexing rod to tighten it.

 (3)  Adjust the light with the flaps down.
 (a)  
Fully lower the trailing edge flaps (AMM 27-51-00/501).

 (b)  
Measure the attitude of the light with the light adjustment tool.

 (c)  
Turn the adjustment nut on the indexing rod to loosen the indexing rod.

 NOTE: Get access to the adjustment nut through the opening at
____ the aft end of the fairing.
 (d)  
Move the light until it points down 4.8 |1 degrees.

 (e)  
Turn the adjustment nut to tighten it.

Remove the light adjustment tool.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  P18-3 Load Control Center - Left
 1) RIGHT OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS
 2) LEFT OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS

 (6)  Set the LANDING OUTBOARD L and the LANDING OUTBOARD R switches on the P5 panel to the RETRACT position.
 (a)  Make sure the lights fully retract.

Put the trailing edge flaps in their usual position (AMM 27-51-00/501).

 (8)  
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 C. Procedure
 S 865-009
 (1)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 S 865-008

 (2)  
Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:

 (a)  P18-3 Load Control Center - Left
 1) RIGHT OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS
 2) LEFT OUTBOARD LANDING LIGHTS

 S 715-010
 (3)  
Do a test of the lights.

 (a)  
Set the LANDING OUTBOARD L and the LANDING OUTBOARD R switches on the overhead panel, P5, to the EXTEND position. 1) Make sure the each light fully extends.

 (b)  
Set the LANDING OUTBOARD L and the LANDING OUTBOARD R switches to ON. 1) Make sure each light comes on.

 (c)  
Set the LANDING OUTBOARD R and the LANDING OUTBOARD L switches to RETRACT. 1) Make sure each light goes off and then fully retracts.
