 AURAL WARNING SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure supplies a test of each of the components in the aural warning system. The tests are written independently. You can do a test of a specified component if it is necessary. To do a full test of the aural warning system do all the tests.
 B.  Although the aural warning system uses the air/ground sensing switch input, this section does not contain a test for the air/ground sensing switch. The test for this switch is in AMM 32-09-10/501.
 C.  There are some warning systems, not included in this procedure, that use the aural warning devices for sound output. These systems are identified by their chapter in this procedure. If it is necessary, do the Devices Box Test to make sure the audio devices/sounds operate.
 D.  Materials and test equipment necessary are at the start of each test.
 E.  Unless told, all tests in this procedure are done with the engines off and the landing gear down. Gear ground locks must be installed.
 F.  On some airplanes there is a parking brake aural warning installed. On these airplanes, put chocks on the landing gear wheels and release the parking brakes. This will prevent an incorrect takeoff warning during other tests.
 G.  This procedure contains these tests:

Aural Warning Module Operational Test

 (2)  
Aural Warning Devices Box Test

 (3)  
Cabin Altitude Warning Switch Test

 (4)  
Landing Warning System Test

 (5)  
Takeoff Warning System Adjustment

 (6)  
Takeoff Warning System Test.

 H.  When it is necessary to move the thrust levers, you measure the distance in degrees forward from the idle position. You can also use linear dimensions (arc length at control stand cover top) to measure thrust lever movement (Ref. Chapter 76, Engine Control Cables - Maintenance Practices).
 I.  If a protractor or linear scale is not available, use 'Range Check' on the FMC.
 (1)  Use the Autothrottle Bite to get access to the Autothrottle "Range Check."
 (a)  
Push the initial reference (INIT-REF) key on the FMCS CDU (Fig. 501 Sheet 2).

 (b)  
Push the 6L line-select key (LSK), adjacent to <INDEX.

 (c)  
Push the 6R LSK adjacent to MAINT>.

 (d)  
Push the 3L LSK adjacent to <A/T.

 1)  Make sure the A/T BITE Test page 1/2 shows (Fig. 501).

 (e)  Push the next page key on the FMCS CDU.
 1)  Make sure the CDU display shows page 2/2 of the A/T BITE
 Test page.
 (f)  Push the 1L LSK adjacent to RANGE CHECK.
 1)  Make sure the CDU display shows the A/T BITE Test - Range
 Check page.
 (2)  Move the thrust levers to the idle position.
 (3)  Make a record of the value shown as a zero degree point.
 NOTE:____ Do not use absolute values.
 The thrust lever angle shown will change in the range of
 +3.0° to -1.0° approximately.  This value must be used as a
 zero degree point.
 (4)  When you move the thrust lever forward, get the difference between
