Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

 (2)  Remove the components of the vortex generator:
 NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the vortex generator
____ for the lubrication of the hinge pin. The spring pin and hinge pin must be removed from the vortex generator before you can lubricate the hinge pin.
 (a)  
Use a rubber mallet or hammer and a 1/16 inch diameter drift pin to carefully tap the spring pin from the hinge pin.

 (b)  
Remove the spring pin that holds the vortex generator and the hinge pin in their positions.

 (c)  
Discard the spring pin.

 (d)  
Remove the hinge pin from the vortex generator.

 (3) Lubricate the components of the vortex generator with the grease:
 (a)  Lubricate the outer diameter of the hinge pin.

(b)  
Lubricate the inner diameter of the vortex generator flap.

 (c)  
Lubricate the hinge bushings of the vortex generator.

 (4)  Install the components of the vortex generator:
 (a)  
Align the vortex generator flap and the hinge bushings of the vortex generator.

 (b)  
Install the hinge pin.

 (c)  
Apply the primer to the new spring pin.

 (d)  
Align the spring pin hole of the hinge pin with the spring pin hole on the vortex generator.

 (e)  
Use a rubber mallet or hammer and a 1/16 inch diameter drift pin to carefully tap (install) the spring pin into the vortex generator and hinge pin.

 (5)  Set the circuit breaker and the switch:
 (a)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

 (b)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel.

AIR INLET DOOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General

 A.  This procedure gives the tasks to remove and to install the air inlet door for the APU. The air inlet door and the hinge assembly are removed as a unit. After the removal of the unit, the hinge assembly can be removed from the air inlet door.

 (1)  Set the switch and the circuit breaker:
 (a)  
Set the APU master switch, on the P5 forward overhead panel, to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

 (b)  
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

 (2)
