Set these switches on the P5 forward overhead panel:

 (a)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the BAT switch.

 (b)  
Set the BAT switch to the ON position.

 (c)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch.

 (d)  
Set the APU master switch to the OFF position.

 (e)  
Set the BAT switch to the OFF position.

 NOTE: The air inlet door and the door switch must be adjusted before the

 adjustment of the vortex generator flap.

 (1)  Set these switches on the P5 forward overhead panel:
 (a)  Set the APU master switch to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
 NOTE: The air inlet door must be in the closed position.

 (b)  Set the BAT switch to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Open the access door to the actuator for the air inlet door.

 (3)  
Align the vortex generator flap:

 (a)  
Remove the set screw of the vortex generator 3 to 4 turns.

 (b)  
Loosen the No. 1 and No. 2 nuts until they are clear of the barrel fittings.

 NOTE: Make sure you remove the No. 1 nut to the end of the
____ threads. This will permit clearance when you examine the position of the air inlet door and the vortex generator flap.

(c)  Pull out on the trailing edge of the air inlet door.
 NOTE: This will make sure that the air inlet door and the
____ vortex generator flap are tight. The vortex generator flap must be tightly set against the stop for the door closed position.
 (d)  
Turn the No. 2 nut by hand to tighten it.

 (e)  
Tighten the No. 2 nut with 1 1/2 more turns.

 (f)  
Turn the No. 1 nut tightly against the barrel fitting.

 (g)  
Install a lockwire to hold the No. 1 and the No. 2 nut.

 (h)  
Set these switches on the P5 forward overhead panel: 1) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the BAT switch. 2) Set the BAT switch to the ON position. 3) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch. 4) Set the APU master switch to the ON position and attach a

 DO-NOT-OPERATE tag. 5) After the air inlet door opens, set the BAT switch to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

 (i)  
Turn the set screw until it touches the flap lever.

 (j)  
Tighten the set screw with 1 1/2 more turns.

 (4)  Set these switches on the P5 forward overhead panel:
 (a)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the BAT switch.

 (b)  
Set the BAT switch to the ON position.

 (c)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch.

 (d)  
Set the APU master switch to the OFF position.

 NOTE: This will close the air inlet door.

 (5)  Do a test of the vortex generator flap:
 (a)  Set the APU master switch from the ON position to the OFF position again and again.
