7402 Fuel Tank Access Door
D. Procedure
S 114-043
(1) Clean these surfaces with the solvent and dry them with a lintfree cloth:
(a)
The O-ring grooves on the port adapter
(b)
The machined surfaces of the port adapter
(c)
The machined surfaces of the fuel line flanges
(d)
The machined surfaces of the rear spar.

(2) Install new O-rings, lightly lubricated with fuel, in the grooves on the port adapter assembly.

CAUTION: DO NOT LOOSEN THE O-RING OR OR PUT IT OUT OF ITS CORRECT SHAPE
_______ WHEN WHEN YOU INSTALL THE PORT ADAPTER ASSEMBLY. YOU CAN CAUSE A FUEL LEAK.
(3) Install the port adapter assembly.
NOTE: Two persons are necessary to do this step.

(a)
Put one person in the fuel tank to put the port adapter assembly in its correct position.
(b)
Put a second person out of the tank to install the parts that attach the port adapter assembly.
(c)
The person in the tank must carefully move the port adapter assembly into its position between the fuel line flanges.
(d)
The person in the tank must install the bolts that attach the fuel line flanges to the port adapter assembly.
(e)
The person out of the tank must install the mounting bolts and the washers that attach the port adapter assembly.
(f)
Tighten the mounting bolts for the port adapter assembly to a torque of 100-140 pound-inches.

Do this task: "Crossfeed Valve Gate Assembly Installation".

(5)
Install the access panel (AMM 28-11-11/401) that you removed to get access to the No. 2 fuel tank.

APU FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure has these four tasks:
(1)
The removal of the actuator assembly for the APU shutoff valve.
(2)
The installation of the actuator assembly for the APU shutoff valve.
(3)
The removal of the valve body assembly for the APU
(4)
The installation of the valve body assembly for the APU.
B. The APU shutoff valve is installed on the left wing rear spar in the wheel well. It has these two primary assemblies:
(1)
The actuator assembly
(2)
The valve body assembly.
C. The actuator assembly is attached with bolts to a mounting adapter. You can replace it without the replacement of the valve body assembly. These procedures are necessary to replace the valve body assembly:
(1)
Remove the actuator assembly.
