Subtask 24-21-49-420-053
A. Installation of the upper oil-out tube assembly
CAUTION : USE 2 WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS.
_______ ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION AND ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
(1)
Remove the protective covers from the hose, tubes, and fittings on the IDG and the IDG oil cooler.
(2)
Connect the upper oil-out tube (5) to the fitting on the IDG oil cooler.
(3)
TORQUE the coupling nut on the upper oil-out tube (5) to between 700 and 730 lbf.in (7.91 and 8.24 m.daN).
NOTE : Use a second wrench to hold the fitting on the IDG oil cooler
____ when you torque the tube (5) coupling nut.
(4)
Put the clampshell (20) on the tube (5) and attach it to the channel with the screw (15).
(5)
TORQUE the screw (15) to between 20 and 25 lbf.in (0.22 and 0.28 m.daN).

B. Installation of the lower oil-out tube assembly CAUTION : USE 2 WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS.
_______ ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION AND ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
(1)
Loosely connect the lower oil-out tube (40) to the upper oil-out tube (5). Do not torque the tube coupling nut at this time.
(2)
Put the clampshell (20) on the tube (40) and attach it to the channel with the the screw (15), washer (30), and nut (35).
(3)
Put the clampshells (20) on the tube (40) and attach them to the brackets at Sta. 158 (B1) with the screws (15). (two locations).
(4)
TORQUE the screw (15) and nut (35) to between 20 and 25 lbf.in (0.22 and 0.28 m.daN).
(5)
TORQUE the coupling nut on the lower oil-out tube (40) to between 700 and 730 lbf.in (7.91 and 8.24 m.daN).
NOTE : Use a second wrench to hold the fitting on the tube (5) when

Connect the oil-out hose (50) to the lower oil-out tube (40).
(2)
TORQUE the coupling nut on the oil-out hose (50) to between 700 and 730 lbf.in (7.91 and 8.24 m.daN).
NOTE : Use a second wrench to hold the fitting on the tube (40) when
____ you torque the hose (50) coupling nut.
(3) Connect the oil-out hose (50) to the union on the IDG (60). R (4) TORQUE the coupling nut on the oil-out hose (50) to between 52.5 and
R 58.3 lbf.ft (7.11 and 7.90 m.daN). NOTE : Use a second wrench to hold the union on the IDG (60) when you
