 (1)  Refer to AMM 12-11-01/301 for the correct safety procedures to refuel the airplane.
 NOTE: Make sure the airplane is grounded correctly

Make sure the fuel tanks have these conditions:

 (a)  
The center wing tank must not contain more than 25,000 lbs (11,300 kgs) of fuel.

 (b)  
All of the other tanks must not be full.

If it is necessary, move some fuel to different tanks (AMM 28-26-00/201).

Set the preselect thumbwheels on the refuel control panel to a minimum fuel quantity of 315,000 lbs (143,000 kgs).

Do these steps to do a test of the refuel valves:

Push the TEST SYS switch and hold it until the indicator lights for the refuel valves go off.
