 3) 4) 5) 6)  Assemble the bottom spigot. a) Put the spring, the washer and the O-ring on the bottom spigot.Align the marks on the bottom spigot with the marks on the hinge arm.Put the bottom spigot in the stop plate.Install the bolt that holds the hinge arm to the bottom spigot.
 (4)  S 434-020-B00Install the assist spring and the torque tube (AMM 52-11-41/401).
 (5)  S 434-022-B00Install the hinge arm covers, the stop pins, and the door seal.
 NOTE:____ It is only necessary to install these parts on a new door.

 A. This procedure contains four tasks:
 (1)  
The operational test of the forward entry door

 (2)  
The adjustment of the forward entry door

 (3)  
A special adjustment to correct "soft unlatching"

 (4)  
The functional test of the forward entry door.

 2.  Forward Entry Door Operational Test___________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
This test is an operational check of the forward entry door. It makes sure the door operates satisfactorily. This test does not make sure the door is adjusted correctly.

Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Use the external handle to open the forward entry door.

 (a)  
Pull the handle from the recess.

 (b)  
Turn the handle clockwise. 1) See that the door moves inboard. 2) See that the FWD ENTRY light on the P5 panel comes on.

 (c)  
Fully turn the handle clockwise (180 degrees). 1) See that the door moves to the cocked position.
