R  A. Safety Precautions 
R  (1) In the cockpit, on the center pedestal, make sure that the free-fall 
R  extension handle of the landing gear is in the normal position. 
R  (2) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, put the warning notice(s) in 
R  position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control 
R  lever. 
R  (3) Put the warning notice(s) in postion to tell persons not to 
R  pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system: 
R  - on the panel 40VU, 
R  - on the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system, access 
R  door 196BB. 
R  (4) In the cockpit, put the warning notice(s) in position to tell persons 
R  not to operate the nosewhell steering system: 
R  - on the brake pedals, 
R  - on the nose wheel steering handwheels (18VU, 19VU). 
R  (5) Put a container below the cylinder to collect the hydraulic fluid. 
R  (6) Put the safety barriers in position.

R  B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration 
R  (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put 
R  it in the maintenance configuration (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001). 
R  (2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 
R  29-14-00-614-001).

 A. Removal of the Anti Shimmy Valve NOTE : The removal procedure is the same for the front and rear valve.

 Precaution: NOTE : When you remove the rubber protective coating, use a spatula

____ to prevent damage to the surfaces of the components.

 (2)
 Disconnect the hydraulic coupling (4) and drain the hydraulic fluid.

 (3)
 Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.

 (4)
 Remove the nut (3) and the lock washer (2) and discard the lock washer (2).

 (5)
 Remove the anti shimmy valve (8).

 (6)
 Remove the rings (5) and (7) and the seals (6) and discard the seals (6).
