Slowly operate the hoist to lift the power plant until the mount surfaces are 1.00 inch (25 mm) or less apart.
(h)
Lift the power plant very slowly and equally.
(i)
If it is necessary, use the control box to adjust the position of the power plant in the transverse, axial, roll, or pitch directions.
NOTE: The operator must monitor the load distribution display
____ and must have used the control box before, to prevent side loads on the engine mounts.
(j) Let the shear pins on the forward and aft engine mounts start to engage the strut. 1) If it is necessary, move the engine in the forward,
rearward, left or right directions.

(4) Connect the forward engine mounts with the steps that follow (Fig. 411):
NOTE: If you will use the torque adapter, make sure you correct the
____ torque wrench indication before you tighten the vertical tension bolts (AMM 70-23-00/201).

CAUTION:_______ YOU MUST INSTALL ONLY NEW VERTICAL TENSION BOLTS OR ONES
THAT ARE EXAMINED FOR DAMAGE. IF YOU USE THE OLD VERTICAL
TENSION BOLTS, FAILURE OF THE VERTICAL TENSION BOLT CAN
OCCUR AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THE VERTICAL TENSION BOLTS ARE THE CORRECT
LENGTH BEFORE YOU INSTALL THEM. IF YOU USE THE INCORRECT
VERTICAL TENSION BOLT, DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL TENSION BOLT
AND NUT CAN OCCUR.
(a) Install the vertical tension bolts (1, 2, and 12) in the forward and the aft mount fitting as follows: 1) Lubricate the threads of the vertical tension bolts
(1, 2, and 12) with the antiseize compound.
2) Install the vertical tension bolts (1, 2), countersunk washers (3), barrel nuts (5), and retainer (6) in the fitting on the forward engine mount.
3) Install the aft vertical tension bolts (12) and countersunk washers (11) in the aft mount fitting.
4) Install the deep socket and the torque adapter of the torque equipment (A71003) on the vertical tension bolts (1, 2, and 12).
CAUTION: TO TIGHTEN THE VERTICAL TENSION BOLTS, YOU MUST USE A
_______ TORQUE WRENCH ADAPTER. WHEN YOU USE THE TORQUE WRENCH ADAPTER, YOU MUST CALCULATE THE VALUE TO SET ON THE TORQUE WRENCH. IF YOU DO NOT TIGHTEN THE VERTICAL TENSION BOLTS CORRECTLY, DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL TENSION BOLT CAN OCCUR.
5) Get the lengths of the torque wrench and adapter and use the specified torque value for the vertical tension bolts (AMM 70-23-00/201).
6) Torque the bolts a small amount more than the run-on torque.
NOTE: Let the hoist hold and show the load while the
____ bolts keep the mount surfaces parallel to each other. The load distribution display should not change since the hoist holds the power plant/cradle load.
7) Lift the power plant a small amount while you monitor the load distribution display. a) Initially, lift the power plant 0.25 inch (6 mm).

8) Continue to lift the power plant until the mount surfaces are 0.000 to 0.060 inch (0.00 to 1.52 mm) apart.

With the torque wrench and adapter, tighten the vertical
