Procedure

(1)
Install the support block (1) for the cone bolt:
(a)
Put the support block (1) in its position below the cone bolt.
(b)
Attach the links (8) to the support block (1) with the bolts (3), the bushings (2), the washers (4), and the nuts (5). 1) Tighten the nuts (5).
(c)
Install the cone bolt nut (7) and the washer (6).
(d)
Tighten the cone bolt nut (7) to 800-900 inch-pounds (90.4-101.7 newton-meters).
NOTE:____The cone bolt has flat sides for a wrench. Use a wrench to hold the cone bolt while you tighten the nut.

Remove the fishpole hoist and the sling from the APU compartment.

Close the APU access doors:
(a)
Do a visual check of the EGT bus bars: 1) Make sure the bus bars are not damaged. 2) Make sure no metal parts touch the bus bars. 3) Make sure the bus bars do not touch each other.
(b)
Disengage the support rods for the APU access doors.
(c)
Put the support rods in the clips on the inner side of the APU access doors.
(d)
Make sure the insulation covers correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.
(e)
Close the APU access doors.
(f)
Close the latches on the APU access doors.

(4) S 864-017Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers: (a) P6 Main Power Supply Panel 1) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT (b) P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center 1) APU PRIMARY CONT
(5) S 864-018Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 panel.

AFT MOUNT LINK - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains the tasks to remove and install the aft mount links. The links connect the support block for the cone bolt to the APU lugs. It is necessary to hold the APU with a fishpole hoist and a sling during the removal of the links.
B. The aft mount links are on the top aft side of the APU. You can get access to the links through the APU access doors.

Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

(2)
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6 Main Power Supply Panel
1) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center
1) APU PRIMARY CONT
