 (3)  
Attach the landing gear sensor measuring tool to the wing landing gear (Fig. 202).

Measure the sensor gap.

 (a)  
Tighten the sensor adjustment tool facing the sensor target (position one on Fig. 202) with the collar and star wheel.

 (b)  
Attach the target plate to the sensor target.

 (c)  
Insert the digital gage in the index plate opening.

 (d)  
Press the gage firmly against the index plate.

 (e)  
Press the reset button on the digital gage.

 (f)  
Remove the digital gage from the index plate.

 NOTE: Do not reset the digital gage again until after the
____
 sensor gap has been measured.

 (g)  
Loosen the star wheel and rotate the sensor adjustment tool to face the sensor (position two on Fig. 202).

 (h)  
Tighten the star wheel.

 (i)  
Insert the digital gage into the sensor adjustment tool index plate.

 (j)  
Press the gage firmly against the index plate.

 (k)  
Make sure the gage shaft is against the sensor face.

 (l)  
Read the gage value.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT REMOVE THE TARGET BRACKET TO ADJUST THE TARGET SHIM. IT IS NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE TO INSTALL THE BRACKET ACCURATELY AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ADJUST THE CLEARANCE CORRECTLY.
 (5)  
Adjust the sensor clearance as necessary to get a 0.090 to 0.110 inch clearance.

 (a)  
Remove the sensor from the support bracket.

 (b)  
Install new shims or remove laminations as necessary.

 (c)  
Install the sensor on the support bracket.

 (d)  
Tighten the sensor support hardware.

Make sure the clearance measured with the adjustment tool is 0.090 to 0.110 inches.

Remove the sensor adjustment tool.

Remove the magnetic target plate from the sensor target.

Seal the shim stack.

 (a)  
Apply a thin layer of primer on the bare sides of the shims.

 (b)  
Apply sealant on the shims with a short bristle brush.

 Replace the retaining bolt and nut in the torsion link pin.

 (1)  Remove the main gear door locks (AMM 32-00-30/201).
