(5) Remove the air filter and the alternate air assembly. Refer to Section 71-62.
(6) Disconnect the throttle control: S Remove the nut and washer from the throttle lever. S Pull the eye-end from the lever. S Remove the second washer and bolt from the lever. Refer to Figure 3.
(7) Remove the throttle control cable from the bracket: S Remove the front adjustment nut and washer from the outer sheath. S Move the control cable clear of the bracket.
(8) Disconnect the mixture control: S Remove the nut and washer from the mixture lever. S Pull the eye-end from the lever. S Remove the spacer and the bolt from the lever.
(9) Remove the mixture control cable from the bracket: S Remove the front adjustment nut and washer from the outer sheath. S Move the control cable clear of the bracket.

WARNING: DO NOT GET FUEL ON YOU. FUEL CAN CAUSE SKIN DISEASE. DO NOT ALLOW FIRE NEAR FUEL. FUEL BURNS AND CAN INJURE PERSONS AND DAMAGE EQUIPMENT.
(10) Disconnect the fuel supply hose to the carburetor. Put a container to catch the fuel. Put caps on the hose and the carburetor.
(11) Remove the 4 nuts, serrated washers and plain washers that attach the fuel engine controls bracket and the carburetor to the engine. Support the carburetor and the bracket.
(12) Pull the carburetor downward off the studs and away from the engine. Discard the gaskets. Put caps on the carburetor and a cover on the engine intake.

WARNING: DO NOT GET FUEL ON YOU. FUEL CAN CAUSE SKIN DISEASE. DO NOT ALLOW FIRE NEAR FUEL. FUEL BURNS AND CAN INJURE PERSONS AND DAMAGE EQUIPMENT.
(1) Prepare the new carburetor: S Remove the caps from the inlet and outlet connections of the new carburetor. S Clean the inlet fuel strainer. S Flush the carburetor with clean fuel until clean fuel flows from the outlets. Use a syringe. Do not use more than 1 bar (15 psi) pressure.
(2) Remove the cover from the engine intake.
(3) Put the carburetor and the engine controls bracket in position on the engine. Refer to Figure 3. Use new gaskets.
(4) Install the 4 serrated washers, plain washers and nuts that attach the carburetor. Torque 23 Nm (17 ft.lb).
(5) Connect the fuel supply hose to the carburetor.
(6) Install the mixture control cable: S Install the top adjustment nut and washer onto the control cable outer sheath. S Push the cable through the support bracket at the bottom of the engine. S Install the bottom adjustment nut and washer on to the control cable outer sheath. Tighten the nut.
(7) Connect the mixture control cable: S Put the bolt and spacer in position on the mixture lever. S Put the eye-end on the bolt. S Install the washer and the self locking nut.
