Read the pressures from the pressure gages on the shock struts.

 NOTE: The pressure gages on the shock struts can be
____ sufficiently accurate for the strut servicing. But, you can use the gages on the servicing equipment for more accuracy.

Calculate the pressure differences for the shock struts on the main landing gear.

Make sure the pressure differences are not more than the values in the table.

 NOTE:  Do not permit a shock strut to have less than 1 inch (25.4mm) of extension (visible chrome), measured from the lower surface of the shock strut outer cylinder.

 (1)  You can do a check of the fluid in the shock strut without the removal of fluid from the strut. The pressure and the extension of the shock strut at different airplane weights gives an indication of the fluid level. You must use the servicing chart to see if the strut is serviceable.
