 (a)  
The static line disconnected from the first officer's static source selector valve.

 (b)  
The static line disconnected from drain fitting No. 5.

 (c)  
Connect the hose to the captain's static source selector valve.

 (37) Disconnect the air supply:
 (a)  
Disconnect the dry filtered air supply from the captain's source selector valve.

 (b)  
Connect the static hose to the captain's static source selector valve.

 (38) Connect the air supply:
 (a)  
Remove the cap from the static hose that you disconnected from the right static port.

 (b)  
Connect the dry filtered air supply to the static hose.

Make sure that no unwanted material is in or around the static ports or pitot-static probes.

 3. Pitot Static System Draining

 A. General
 (1)  The pitot static system should be drained periodically per 737 Maintenance Planning Document. Also, when the pitot-static system the airplane has sustained ground exposure to very heavy rainfall.
 NOTE: Very heavy rainfall is specified as rainfall that
____ accompainies a monsoon or a tropical thunderstorm.
 B. Drain System
 S 682-070
 (1)  Use these steps to drain the pitot-static system:
 (a)  
Push up and twist the cap to open the drain.

 (b)  
Turn the oppsite side of the cap up toward the drain.

 (c)  
Insert the drain cap into the drain hole in the bottom of the drain body.

 (d)  
Push the drain cap into the drain body to open the spring-loaded seal to permit the collected liquid to drain.

 (e)  
Remove the cap.

 (f)  
Turn the opposite side of the drain cap up toward the drain.

 (g)  
Lock the cap on the drain body.
