(3) TEMPORARY flight plan The TEMPORARY flight plan vectors are transmitted, if a TEMPORARY flight plan exists (primary or alternate), for those legs which lie within the defined edit area. Transmission follows the rules for the ACTIVE primary flight plan. If an engine-out condition has been detected, the EOSID will be transmitted as the TEMPORARY flight plan vectors until the EOSID is confirmed or cleared or until the A/C sequences the diversion point. The priority of the temporary flight plan vectors as specified in table should be clarified as follows: (Ref. Fig. 008)
 -The TEMPORARY flight plan may exist due to a modification to either the ACTIVE primary or the ACTIVE alternate. The TEMPORARY flight plan will never contain both a primary and alternate segment at the same time. Therefore, the priority in table is correct for an active primary revision, but not for an alternate revision. (Ref. Fig. 008) For an alternate revision, the existing alternate vectors have precedence over the TEMPORARY vectors. Thus, the TEMPORARY vectors will follow the ACTIVE alternate vectors (if defined) in the EISBGN output.
 -When the TEMPORARY flight plan exists due to an ACTIVE primary revision, the resulting TEMPORARY flight plan may contain a missed approach segment. If the ACTIVE primary missed approach vectors are output, the TEMPORARY missed approach should not have precedence over the ACTIVE primary missed approach. Rather, the vector precedence can be viewed as follows: . ACTIVE primary vectors . TEMPORARY flight plan vectors . missed approach vectors . TEMPORARY missed approach vectors.

 (4) Dashed flight plan The dashed flight plan vectors are transmitted for the path which lies within the defined edit area under the conditions noted below:
 -
If FM LATERAL AUTOCONTROL (Nav) is neither armed nor engaged and ARC or ROSE NAV mode is selected, the ACTIVE flight plan vectors are transmitted under the DASHED F-PLN label.

 -
If FM LATERAL AUTOCONTROL is neither armed nor engaged, and PLAN mode is selected, DASHED F-PLN vectors are only sent if the SECONDARY flight plan vectors are not being transmitted.

 -
If FM LATERAL AUTOCONTROL is armed but the current A/C track will

 not intercept the active leg, operation is per the rules above. In all cases, the ACTIVE flight plan is not transmitted.
 (5) Abeam/radial vectors The abeam and/or radial vectors are transmitted as map background data when the following conditions are met:
 -
A known reference fix has been entered on one of the FIX INFO pages. Note that the entered radial(s) and/or abeam radial may be displayed although the reference fix does not lie within the edit area.

 -
A radial referenced to the above fix is entered on the FIX INFO page and/or the abeam function is selected on that page and an abeam intercept point exists on the ACTIVE primary F-PLN (the first one found ahead of the aircraft or following the "Search after" criteria). This radial must lie within the edit area.

 -The radial and/or abeam intercept point is not inserted within the
 ACTIVE F-PLN. The abeam/radial vectors will then be transmitted to the EFIS as any F-PLN leg and through a specific data label, just after transmitting the flight plan waypoints for the ACTIVE F-PLN and the reference fix
R  (according to priorities defined in table). (Ref. Fig. 008) The length of the radial and abeam vectors should sufficiently cover the ND given the selected range. All abeam and radial vectors always start from the reference fix lat/long position. As soon as the radial and/or abeam intercept point is inserted within the ACTIVE F-PLN (the pilot has pressed the line key adjacent to a star on the FIX INFO page) the corresponding radial and/or vector is no longer displayed on the ND: this intercept point is transmitted within the ACTIVE F-PLN as a leg termination and waypoint ident. For the abeam intercept, any condition which makes the corresponding line dashed on the MCDU FIX INFO page deletes the abeam vector display from the ND. The radial intercept, however, is always displayed when entered regardless of whether or not the radial actually intercepts the ACTIVE flight plan.

 (6) DIR TO/intercept display The Direct To a Radial Intercept function is a modification to the ACTIVE primary flight plan that does not create a TEMPORARY flight plan. However, if a DIR TO fix has been defined on the DIR TO page, this information may be displayed on the ND using a TEMPORARY flight plan vector and waypoint symbol following the rules below. As soon as the fix is defined, a temporary vector is created from A/C to the fix. This vector is replaced by a temporary radial only when a RADIAL IN or RADIAL OUT has been manually entered into fields 1R or 2R on the DIR TO page, provided the angle of interception does not exceed 160 deg.. A TEMPORARY vector is not displayed for a default RADIAL IN which may be displayed on the DIR TO page as a result of doing a DIR TO an existing F-PLN waypoint. Only when a RADIAL IN or RADIAL OUT is manually entered and the DIR TO fix is not an existing F-PLN waypoint will a TEMPORARY waypoint symbol be displayed on the ND for the DIR TO fix. A TEMPORARY waypoint symbol is not displayed for the DIR TO fix in any other case. Note that RADIAL IN an RADIAL OUT vectors may not exist at the same time. For example, if the pilot enters a radial in 1R, then enters a radial in 2R, the entry in 1R is automatically erased. The length of the vectors should sufficiently cover the ND given the selected range.
