(1) Preserving
(a)
Put the spare parts in a polythene bag of 0,2 mm (0.008 in.) minimum thickness and be sufficiently large to seal correctly.
(b)
Put an identification label and humidity indicator into the bag in a position where you can easily read them.
(c)
Remove as much air as possible from the bag and then use heat to seal it.
(d)
Attach labels to the outside of each container:
-item identification label,
-packing date label,
-"DO NOT OPEN UNTIL REQUIRED FOR USE" label.

(2) Packaging
(a)
Put the Actuator in its initial container.
(b)
Use the initial material for the protection of the equipment.
(c)
Use DES1UNITE Desiccant bag as necessary.
(d)
If the initial container is not available:
- refer to Page Block 0001 - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION (refer to TASK 21-53-12-872-801-A01) for the weight of the equipment,
- use a different container. Use only approved materials for the protection of the equipment.
(e)
Put the identification labels on the equipment and on the outside of the container. Make sure that:
- the identification label has all the related data of the component,
-you can read the labels easily.
NOTE: The equipment is not approved for installation if there is no identification label
attached to it. Subtask 21-53-12-550-001-A01
(3) Storage
(a)
Keep the Actuator in a clean and dry room open to the air. The temperature must be between 18 °C and 28 °C (64 °F and 82 °F) and the relativity between 25 % and 65 %.
(b)
Keep the equipment in its initial packing. If you put other containers, be careful to prevent damage caused by too much weight.
(c) Do not keep the equipment near heat, fluids or other sources that can cause corrosion. Subtask 21-53-12-540-001-A01
(4) Procedure to remove the equipment from storage
(a) Removal from storage
1 Remove the oldest dated unit from storage first.

Remove the equipment from the container and polythene bag. 3
Remove the mouldable wrap and clean off corrosion preventative.
(b) Destorage

Before you open the container, make sure it is in correct condition, and there is no damage (signs of impact or water).
2 Open the container. Remove the equipment with its sealed cover from the container.

3 Make sure the cover and the humidity indicator (on the desiccant bag) are in correct condition.
NOTE: The humidity indicator color is incorrect when the desiccant bag is soaked and not because the container is defective. Usually, when the color of the desiccant bag is not correct, the air in the wrapper is sufficiently dry to keep the equipment in good condition. If that occurs, examine the wrapper to find a possible tear.
