A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Clean the tie-rods (12) and (13) and the vibration isolator (10) with solvent CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-001) and a fiber-bristled brush.
(2)
Do a check and make sure that the tie-rods (12) and (13) are in correct condition.
(3)
If the tie-rods and/or the vibration isolator are damaged, replace them if necessary.
(4)
Clean and examine the attachment brackets, the APU mount-bracket (11) and the structure for damage and replace if nescessary.

B. Installation of the Aft Vibration Isolator (4055KM)
(1) Protective Treatment
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(a) Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to all the mating surfaces. Do not apply it to the bonding straps.
(2)
Install the vibration isolator (4055KM) (10) on the APU mount-bracket (4085KM) (11).
(3)
If removed install the tie-rods (12) and (13).
(a)
Install the bolts (21), the washers (18) and the castle nuts (19).
(b)
Tighten and TORQUE the castle nuts (19) to between to between
0.55 and 0.75 m.daN (48.67 and 66.37 lbf.in) and safety them with the new cotter pin (20).
(c)
Connect the bonding straps (15) to the bonding bracket (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-004).
(d)
Install the screws (16), the washers (17) and the nuts (14).
(e)
Tighten and TORQUE the nuts (14) to between to between 0.22 and
0.26 m.daN (19.46 and 23.00 lbf.in).
(4)
Install the tie-rods (12) and (13) at the vibration isolator.
(5)
Install the bolts (4) and (8), the washers (1) and (7) and the castle nuts (2) and (6).
(6)
Tighten and TORQUE the castle nuts

item (2) to between to between 0.55 and 0.75 m.daN (48.67 and 66.37 lbf.in)
-
item (6) to between to between 0.3 and 0.35 m.daN (26.54 and 30.97
lbf.in) and safety them with the new cotter pin (3) and cotterpin (5).
(7)
Tighten and TORQUE the castle nuts (15) to between 0.3 and 0.35 m.daN
(26.54 and 30.97 lbf.in) and safety them with the new cotter pin (16).
(8)
Tighten and TORQUE the castle nuts (2) to between 0.55 and 0.75 m.daN
(48.67 and 66.37 lbf.in) and the castle nut (18) to between 0.55 and
0.75 m.daN (48.67 and 66.37 lbf.in) and safety them with the new cotter pin (1).
(9)
Remove the PROTECTOR - THREADS, APU MOUNTING BOLTS and install the nut (12).
(10)
Tighten and TORQUE the nut (12) to between 7.7 and 8.5 m.daN (56.78 and 62.68 lbf.ft)
(11)
Connect the bonding straps (8) to the brackets (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-004).
(12)
Install the screws (7), the washers (6) and the nuts (5).
(13)
Tighten and TORQUE the nuts (5) to between 0.22 and 0.26 m.daN (19.46 and 23.00 lbf.in).

D. Apply a thin layer of SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-027) to the vibration isolator (10), the tie-rod ends, the suspension structural brackets and the APU mount-bracket.
