K. Push the DISPLAY STATUS switch on the EICAS Display Select Panel (P9).
L. Verify that the HYD GEN ON and HYD GEN VAL Status messages do not appear on the EICAS lower display.
M. Open and then close the HYD GEN CONT circuit breaker on the Main Power distribution panel (P6).
NOTE: Opening and then closing the HYD GEN CONT circuit breaker ensures that the HMG Control Unit is reset following the test.
N. If the ACMPs were used to pressurize the hydraulic system, put the PTU switch to the OFF position.
O. Restore the airplane to its usual condition.
OPERATIONS (O)
1. Apply takeoff performance adjustments for APU ON.
2. Leave inoperative GEN CONT switch in the OFF position.
3. Start APU.
4. After APU start, observe that amber BUS OFF, APU GEN OFF and UTILITY BUS OFF lights are not illuminated.
NOTE: Average fuel consumption for APU operation is 90 kg per hour.

PLACARD
Electrical system control panel as appropriate - APU GEN INOP (REMOVED) MAINTENANCE (M)
NOTE: If failure is such that APU operation could cause additional generator damage, airplane may be operated with the APU generator removed.
1. Removal of inoperative APU generator:
A. Remove APU generator (Ref. MM 24-21-01).
B. Set nuts on APU mount pad studs so that at least one inch is between nuts and seal plates.
C. Secure the four power leads disconnected from the generator to prevent damage or arcing.
D. Install APU generator dispatch kit on APU mounting pad.
NOTE: APU generator removed dispatch kit, B49006-1, is stowed in the flight dispatch kit in the forward cargo compartment.
E. Pass APU mounting pad studs through keyholes in Generator Cover Box.
F. Rotate Generator Cover Box counter-clockwise to allow studs to move into smaller part of the Generator Cover Box keyholes.
G. Tighten stud nuts to 260-320 pound-inches.
H. Replenish APU oil (AMM 12-22-03).
I. Close APU access door.
2. Verify that the HMG operates normally (Ref. AMM 24-25-00): A. Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
 
B. Verify that the following circuit breakers on the P11 panel are closed:
