Disconnect the electrical connectors from the main battery.

 (a)  
Turn the knob on the main battery connector (DM7423A) counterclockwise until the connector is free from the main battery receptacle.

 (b)  
Disconnect the electrical connector (DM7423B) from the main battery receptacle.

Remove the main battery.

 (a)  
Remove the six screws that attach the main battery to the battery tray.

 (b)  
Put the battery on the roller tray.

 (c)  
Attach the hoist cable to the battery.

 (d)  
Lower the battery from the airplane.

If any of the following conditions are found on the main battery connectors replace the battery:

 (a)  
Electrolyte leakage through the receptacle body and/ or the contact pins.

 (b)  
Arcing or burn marks on the contact pins.

 (c)  
Damage to the sensor connector pins or locking mechanism.

 (d)  
Do this check: Battery connector check (AMM 24-31-01/601).

Install the main battery:

 (a)  
Attach the hoist cable to the battery.

 (b)  
Use the hoist to lift the battery into the airplane.

 (c)  
Put the battery on the roller tray.

 (d)  
Move the roller tray adjacent to the battery tray.

 (e)  
Move the battery from the roller tray to the battery tray.

 (f)  
Install the screws that attach the main battery to the battery tray.

 (3)  
Connect the electrical connectors to the main battery:

 (a)  
Connect the electrical connector (DM7423B) to the main battery receptacle.

 (b)  
Put the main battery connector (DM7423A) into the receptacle on the main battery.

 (c)  
Turn the knob on the connector clockwise with your hand until it is tight.

Check the Main Battery ground stud.

 (1)  
Make sure the terminal lug, ground strap or stud is not damaged, deformed, discolored or annealed.

 (a)  
If the terminal lug, ground strap or stud is damaged, dedormed, discolored or annealed, repair or replaced the terminal lug, ground strap or stud (SWPM 20-30-00).

 NOTE: If the terminal lug is annealed, use a high temperature
____ terminal lug to replace the lug (SWPM 20-30-11).
 1) Make sure the battery ground stud nut is torqued from 180 to 200 pound-inch. 2) Make sure the electrical bonding of the battery ground is 0.0001 ohms.
 (b)  If the terminal lug, ground strap or stud is not damaged, deformed, discolored or annealed and the electrical bonding of the ground stud is in question, do the following steps: 1) Make sure the battery ground stud nut is torqued from 180
