 On the damaged vapor seal: 1 Cut out the damaged part of the vapor seal to form a circle or

_ rectangle.
 2 Mark out a border of 40 mm (1.5748 in.) round the repair
_ cut-out in the vapor seal.
 3 Prepare a patch of repair material (865 fabric) to match the
_ size of the marked out repair area on the vapor seal.
 4 Clean the patch and the vapor seal again using isopropyl
_ alcohol.
 (c) Repair. 1 Coat the vapor seal membrane and the smooth face of the patch
_ with BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-043) adhesive.

 2_ Allow to dry as specified in BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS
 (Material No. 08-043) sheet.
 3_ Position the patch on the area to be repaired.
 4_ Press the patch over the vapor seal membrane applying heat
 with an iron (or hot air blow gun) until a temperature of
 approximately 180 deg.C (356.00 deg.F) is reached.
 NOTE : The patch can be held in position on the vapor seal____
 membrane by applying adhesive tape on the edges.
 5_ Allow to dry for 24 hours.
 6_ If used remove the adhesive tape.

 B. Replace the Vapor Seal/Attachment Fitting Seals (Ref. Fig. 802/TASK 28-13-42-991-009)
 (1)
 Clean the mating surfaces of the vapor seal (1) and attachment fitting seals (2)

 (a)
 Lightly rub the two mating surfaces with the fine emery cloth..

 (b)
 Clean the vapor seal (1) and the seals (2) with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003).

 (2)
 Prepare the adhesive.

 (a) Thoroughly mix the BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-011), by weight, 100 parts CEMENT S-707 to 5 parts HARDENER R.
 NOTE : The application life of the compound is approx. 2 hours.

 (3) Apply the adhesive
 (a)
 Use a fine brush to apply the prepared compound to the mating faces of the vapor seal (1) and the seals (2).

 (b)
 Allow the compound to dry for 10 minutes, then apply a second coat.

 (c)
 Allow the second coat to dry until it is no longer tacky.

 (d)
 Put the seals (2) in position on the vapor seal (1).

 (e) Press the seals (2) (lightly into place with your fingers) to remove air pockets from the mating faces.
 (4)
 Clean the mating surfaces of the vapor seal (1) and attachment fitting seals (2) (Fabric 865)

 (a)
 Lightly rub the two mating surfaces with the fine emery cloth..

 (b)
 Clean the vapor seal (1) and the seals (2) with isopropyl alcohol.

 (5)
 Apply the adhesive

 (a)
 Use a fine brush to apply the adhesive BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-043) to the mating faces of the vapor seal (1) and the seals (2).

 (b)
 Allow the adhesive to dry as specified in BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-043) sheet.

 (c)
 Put the seals (2) in position on the vapor seal (1).

 (d)
 Press the seals (2) (lightly with your fingers) to remove air pockets from between the mating faces.

 (e)
 Apply heat to the repair (with an iron or hot air blow-gun) until a temperature of approximately 180 deg.C (356.00 deg.F) is reached.

 NOTE : The seals (2) can be held in position on the vapor seal
____ (1) with adhesive tape.
 (f)
 Allow the adhesive to dry for 24 hours.

 (g)
 If used, remove the adhesive tape.

 Install the vapor seal (Ref. TASK 28-13-42-400-001).

 Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.

 (3) Install the access panels 191KB, 192KB.

 B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1HH, 2HH, 3HH, 4HH, 1HB, 21HH, 22HH, 23HH, 24HH, 2HB, 49HH, 50HH, 51HH, 52HH, 53HH, 54HH, 55HH, 56HH.
