 B.  Center lavatories are hard point mounted to the floor structure. Side lavatories are seat-track mounted. Access to the floor brackets is from outside the lavatory module.
 C.  Lavatories are attached to the ceiling structure with tie rods. Access to the tie rods is through the ceiling panels.
 2.  Component Details (Figure 1)_________________
 A.  Entry Door
 (1)  Each lavatory has an entry door. There are two types of entry doors. One is a bi-fold type, the other is a single panel type. The bi-fold door bends inside and is spring-loaded to return to the closed position without passenger assistance. All bi-fold doors have a rotary damper located in the top closing build-up of the door. The rotary damper slows down the door just before closing, to reduce the door noise level. All doors have slide latches on the door lock mechanism to secure the door.
 B.  Dispenser Cabinet
 (1)  The dispenser cabinet is attached to the upper part of the sink wall. It is comprised of the amenities, such as a paper towel dispenser and facial tissue cabinet, etc.
 C.  Toilet Shroud
 (1)  The toilet shroud is installed on the shroud surround. It consists of a shroud, a toilet seat and seat cover. The toilet shroud consists of a hook at the upper edge of the shroud and two levers at the bottom for removal and installation.
 D.  Passenger Service Unit
 (1)  The passenger service unit is installed in the ceiling panel. It consists of a grille and an outlet for a gasper, and a grille and a cover for a speaker and oxygen box. Hidden latches above the PSU are accessed thru holes located on the lower face of the PSU.

 E. Electrical System Installation
 (1)  
The electrical system installation for each lavatory is functionally identical. It consists of a ceiling light, an attendant call/reset switch, a toilet flush switch, a water heater, a RETURN TO SEAT sign, a LOCK DOOR sign, a speaker, an occupation switch, a smoke detector, a shaver outlet and miscellaneous relays and associated electrical cables.

 (2)  
The ceiling light is automatically turned on by the switch installed in the entrance door panel, when the lavatory entrance door is closed and locked.

 F. Water System Installation
 (1)  
Each water system installation is functionally identical. It consists of a supply line, a shut off valve, a water heater, a mixture valve, a header, distribution lines, a hot and cold water faucet assembly, a sink drain stopper mechanism, drain/overflow line and a sink drain muffler.

 (2)  
The aft water shut off valve is located in the compartment of the sink cabinet. It has two positions of open and close. It shall be in the open position during sevice.

 (3)  
The water heater is located in the compartment of the sink cabinet, and is installed in the supply line to the hot water faucet. It consists of a tank, an on/off switch, a manual reset thermostat, a control thermostat and heating elements.

 (4)  
The muffler is installed in the overflow line to minimize the drain noise.

 G. Smoke Detector
 (1)  The smoke detector is installed in the ceiling of the lavatory module. It generates an alarm signal by detecting smoke by means of a density sensor.
