 (y) Adjust the output of the ramp test set to supply glide slope up and down signals in turn. 1) Make sure the glide slope pointers in the two EADIs and the two EHSIs follow the signal change. (z) Set the VHF NAV transfer switch to the NORMAL position. (aa) Set the mode selector on the standby attitude/ILS indicator to the OFF position.

 VOR/LOC ANTENNA - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This subject has two tasks. The first task is the removal of the VOR/LOC antenna. The second task is the installation of the VOR/LOC antenna and a test of the VOR/LOC antenna.
 TASK 34-31-11-004-001
 2.  VOR/LOC Antenna Removal (Fig. 401)

 A.  General
 (1)  The VOR/LOC antenna (M41) is installed at the top of the vertical stabilizer fin (Fig. 401).
 B.  Access
 (1)  Location Zone
 707 Vertical Stabilizer Tip

 C.  Procedure
 S 024-004
 (1)  Remove the VOR/LOC antenna:
 (a)  
Remove the screws that attach the leading edge to the antenna.

 (b)  
Remove the leading edge.

 (c)  
Disconnect the coaxial cables from the antenna.

 (d)  
Install dust caps on the electrical connectors.

 (e)  
Remove the screws that attach the antenna to the airplane structure.

 NOTE: Do not remove the screws that attach the trailing edge

 to the antenna.

 (f)  
Remove the antenna and the trailing edge.

 (g)  
If it is necessary: Remove the trailing edge from the antenna: 1) Remove the screws that attach the trailing edge to the

 antenna. 2) Remove the trailing edge from the antenna.

 3.  VOR/LOC Antenna Installation (Fig. 401)

 A.  General
 (1)  The VOR/LOC antenna (M41) is installed at the top of the vertical stabilizer fin (Fig. 401).

Clean the mating surfaces of the antenna and the airplane structure (AMM 51-21-31/701).

 (2)  
Apply a layer of BMS 3-23 corrosion-preventive compound to the mating surfaces of the antenna and the airplane structure (SRM 51-20-01).

 (3)  
Install the VOR/LOC antenna:

 (a)  
If the trailing edge is not installed, attach the trailing edge to the antenna.

 (b)  
Align the antenna and the trailing edge with the screw holes on the top of the vertical fin.
