Remove the protective covers.

 (g)  
Install the manifold. 1) Lubricate the packing with engine oil. 2) Install the packing in the packing grooves near the flange

 of the manifold. 3) Lubricate the threads of the manifold elbow with engine oil. 4) Attach the manifold elbow to the tube nut of the internal
 tube of the diffuser case. 5) Tighten the tube nut with your hand. 6) Lubricate the bolts that will go in the oil pump port with
 the antigalling compound. 7) Use the bolts to attach the manifold to the oil pump port. 8) Tighten the bolts with your hand. 9) Attach the clamp with the nut and the bolt, lubricated with
 engine oil, to the oil pump bracket.
 10) ENGINES POST-PW-SB 79-46; Attach the clamp with the nut and the bolt, lubricated with engine oil, to the adjacent oil scavenge tube for the No. 4 bearing.

No. 7 - Oil Overtemperature Inspection/Check

 11) Tighten the bolt to 36-40 pound-inches (4.067-4.519 newton-meters).
 NOTE: At this location only, the clamp shells (loop clamp
____ grommet halves) are installed below the clamps.
 12) Tighten the clamp bolt to 36-40 pound-inches (4.067-4.519 newton-meters). 13) Tighten the bolts which attach the manifold to the oil pump port to 62-72 pound-inches (7.005-8.135 newton-meters).
 14) Hold the manifold elbow from turning and tighten the internal tube nut of the diffuser case to 650-700 pound-inches (73.440-79.089 newton-meters). a) Install the lockwire or safety cable and safety cable
 ferrule to the main oil pump and internal tube nut.
 CAUTION: EXAMINE THE HARNESS CONNECTOR AND COMPONENT CONNECTOR
_______ FOR BENT PINS AND CONTAMINATION. CAREFULLY MAKE STRAIGHT ANY BENT PINS AND MAKE SURE THE CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN. BENT PINS OR DIRTY CONNECTORS CAN PREVENT CORRECT CONNECTIONS.
 15) Connect the EEC wiring harness connector to the thermocouple probe. a) ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 73-84;
 Tighten the coupling ring with your hand.
 NOTE: The coupling ring will be a cover for the
____ color band which is nearest to the threads.
 b)  ENGINES POST-PW-SB 73-84; Tighten the two larger nuts, the Alumel connection, to 18-22 pound-inches (2.0-2.5 newton-meters) and the two smaller nuts, the Chromel connection, to 15-18 pound-inches (1.7-2.0 newton-meters).
 (h)  
Install the bolt, screws, washers, and nuts which attach the
 heat shield to the engine bracket.

 (i)  
Install the IDG (AMM 24-11-01/401).

 Flush the oil system (AMM 12-22-03/301).

 (a)  
After 50 hours, examine the engine oil for a very dark color, a high viscocity, and an increased Total Acid Number (TAN).

 (b)  
If you find those conditions in the oil, do the inspection for Very High Oil Temperatures.

 (13)
 Do the Test No. 12 - Engine Vacuum Test (AMM 71-00-00/501).
