D. Install waveguide section 4.
NOTE: Waveguide section 4 is located in the right crawlway forward of
____ the main electronic equipment center.
(1)
Remove protective covers from flanges.
(2)
Support section 4 with the support clamps. Secure support clamps with two screws and locknuts and four washers. Tighten support clamp screws only enough to support the waveguide. Do not tighten screws all the way.
(3)
Install four screws and lockwashers in flanges between sections 3 and 4 with gasket.
(4)
Install four screws and lockwashers in flanges between sections 4 and 5 with gasket. Secure support clamps with two screws and locknuts and four washers.
(5)
Install guard and secure bracket assemblies with screws and washers.
E. Install reflectometer or waveguide section 5.
NOTE: Waveguide section 5 or reflectometer is located in the right
____ crawlway forward of the main electronic equipment center.
(1)
Remove protective covers from flanges.
(2)
Install waveguide section 5 or reflectometer aft flange into the support.
(3)
Install four screws with lockwashers and gasket into the waveguide section 5 flange, through the support and into the waveguide section 6 flange.
(4)
Install four screws and lockwashers in flanges between sections 4 and 5 or reflectometer with a gasket.
(5)
Install support clamps and secure with two screws and locknuts and four washers.

F. Install waveguide section 6.
NOTE: Waveguide section 6 is located in the right crawlway forward of

the main electronic equipment center.
(1)
Remove protective covers from flanges and waveguide switch opening.
(2)
Install waveguide section 6 through the bulkhead hole to the aft flange of waveguide section 5 or the reflectometer.
(3)
Install four screws and lockwashers in flanges between section 5 or reflectometer and section 6 with a gasket.
(4)
Install four screws and lockwashers in flange and waveguide switch or R/T mount waveguide with gasket between flanges.
11. Install Waveguide On Freighter Airplanes with AVQ-30X Weather Radar

NOTE: Replace gaskets if they are defective.

A. Install waveguide Section 1
(1)
Open nose radome to gain access to waveguide section 1 (Ref 34-43-03).
(2)
Remove protective covers from waveguide flanges and antenna waveguide connections.
(3)
Connect waveguide section 1 to antenna using guick disconnect.
(4)
Install four screws, lockwashers and flat washers with gasket in flanges between sections 1 and 2 and flange support angle.
(5)
Install waveguide clamp over section 1 waveguide and secure with two screws.
B. Install waveguide section 2.
(1)
Open nose radome to gain access to waveguide section 2 (Ref 34-43-03).
(2)
Remove protective covers from waveguide flanges.
(3)
Install four screws, lockwashers and flat washers with gasket in flanges between sections 1 and 2 and flange support angle.
(4)
Install two screws and lockwashers in flanges between sections 2 and 3 with gasket.
(5)
Install waveguide clamp over section 2 waveguide and secure with two screws.
C. Install waveguide section 3.
(1)
Open nose radome to gain access to waveguide section 3 (Ref 34-43-03).
(2)
To gain access to section 3 below the compartment floor perform the following:
(a)
Remove the center cargo floor panel by disengaging eight fasteners.
(b)
Remove the right cargo floor panel by disengaging five fasteners.
(3)
Slide section 3 into the airplane through the bulkhead hole.
(4)
Remove protective covers from waveguide flanges.
(5)
Support section 3 and position waveguide tabs on aft and forward waveguide support brackets.
