 A. Lavatory/Galley Ventilation The lavatory/galley ventilation system makes sure that the lavatories and galleys have a flow of temperature controlled and conditioned air. Air flows from the cabin into the lavatories and galleys. Air also flows into the lavatories from the cabin air distribution and recirculation system through individual air outlets. The air flows from the lavatories and galleys into an extraction duct in the area of the outflow valve and then out of the aircraft. An extraction fan gives the necessary airflow.

R  A. Lavatory and Galley Air Supply 
R  (1) Compartment Ventilation 
R  The largest quantity of air for ventilation of the lavatories and 
R  galleys comes from the cabin. Extraction causes the air to flow from 
R  the cabin into the lavatories and galleys. The air flows into the 
R  lavatories through grilles in the door and into the galleys through 
R  grilles and filters which are installed in the galley walls and the 
R  ceiling. 
R  (2) Individual Ventilation 
R  A small quantity of air for ventilation of the lavatories flows from 
R  individual air outlets. Conditioned air from the cabin air 
R  distribution and recirculation system (Ref. 21-21-00) flows into the 
R  supply ducts of the lavatory/galley ventilation system. The supply 
R  ducts are installed in the ceiling area of the cabin. The air flows 
R  from the supply ducts into each lavatory through an individual air 
R  outlet. There are also supply ducts to the galleys. They are only 
R  connected where it is necessary for customer requirements. 
R  B. Lavatory and Galley Extraction System 
R  (1) Extraction Fan 1HU 
R  The extraction fan 1HU removes air from the lavatories and the 
R  galleys through a duct which is installed above the cabin ceiling. 
R  The air flows through filters into the duct. This duct extends the 
R  length of the cabin from the FWD utility area to the left-hand AFT
