(b)
Put the forward lower support (8) into the bottom of the strut fitting for the forward upper engine mount and move forward at an angle for the subsequent step.
(c)
Put the forward top support (7) into the top of the lower support (8).
(d)
Turn the forward top and lower supports (7 and 8) back against the flange protector (6A).
(e)
Turn the clamps (7A) around the forward top engine flange.
(f)
Install and turn the coupling rod (9) 1/4 of a turn to install it in the top support on each side of the strut. 1) Let the coupling rod (9) hang.
(g)
Install the forward outboard and inboard arms (6 and 5) to the forward lower support (8) and the coupling rod (9) with the captive pins.
(h)
Adjust the load cell (10) adjustment to 0 pounds.
(i)
Remove the top shackle.
(j)
Attach the lug of the forward load cell (10) directly to the forward inboard and outboard arms (5 and 6) with the captive pins.
NOTE: Point the load cells in the aft direction.

(k) Attach the end of the forward 6-ton hoists (11) with the handle to the forward load cells (10).

(4) Install the handling adapters (Fig. 409).
(a)
Install the forward handling adapters (19) to the engine fan case with the bolts (20) and washers (17).
(b)
Install the aft handling adapters (14) between the engine flanges with the pins (15) and the safety pins (16).

(5) Install the bootstrap equipment on the cradle with the steps that follow (Fig. 409):
(a)
Install the protection pads on the engine to prevent damage caused by the hoists.
(b)
Put the transportation stand with the cradle attached, below the power plant from the rear.
(c)
Attach the aft load cell (1) to the aft outboard arm.
(d)
Attach the end of the aft 3-ton hoists (2) with the handle to the aft load cell (1) and the aft inboard arm.
(e)
Move the aft cable (3) to install the sheaves (4).
NOTE: Make sure you attach the outboard sheave to the inner
____ hole and the inboard sheave to the outer hole.
(f) Attach the aft 3-ton hoists (2) to the cable (3).

(g) Attach the forward 6-ton hoists (11) to the outboard and inboard shackles (12 and 13).
NOTE: Make sure you attach the outboard shackle to the inner
____ hole and inboard shackle to the outer hole.
