In cold weather it is necessary to drain the fuel tank sumps prior to refueling to remove water from the fuel tanks if the airplane has been idle for more than 45 minutes prior to refueling. Drain the fuel tank sumps again after refueling if the airplane has been idle for 2 hours or more after refueling, prior to departure (AMM 12-11-00/301). In cold weather water can freeze, and not let the drain valves open.

 WARNING:_______MAKE SURE WHEEL CHOCKS ARE PROPERLY SET. IF WHEEL CHOCKS ARE NOT PROPERLY SET, THE PARKING BRAKE CAN BLEED DOWN OR BE INADVERTANTLY RELEASED. IF THE PARKING BRAKES RELEASES AND THE CHOCKS ARE NOT PROPERLY SET, THE AIRPLANE CAN MOVE WITHOUT WARNING. IF THE AIRPLANE MOVES INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

 (4)  
The airplane is usually parked for a small quantity of time as follows:

 -chocks in front of and behind a minimum of one of the main gear wheels
 -the parking brakes off.
 (a)  The parking brake holds the airplane until the chocks are in their positions.

 (5)  
Put the covers on the openings, vents and scoops on the airplane to keep out unwanted materials.

 (6)  
Refer to AMM 10-21-00/201, High Wind Condition Mooring, if there are strong winds.

 (7)  
A static ground on the airplane is not necessary when the airplane is parked or is serviced during the turnaround operation (AMM 20-40-11/201).

 NOTE: This does not include when the maintenance steps given below

 are done.

 (8)  A static ground on the airplane is not necessary when you pressure fuel the airplane.
 (a)  An electrical bond between the airplane and the refuel vehicle is recommended.

A static ground of the airplane when you fuel over the wing is recommended.

 (10)
 Do a static ground of the airplane when you do maintenance
 procedures.

 (11)
 Static ground the airplane when you use devices such as those that follow:

 (a)  
power tools

 (b)  
lights

 (c)  
electrical cords

 (d)  
instruments powered from external cords.

 WARNING: KEEP ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM THE AREAS NEAR THE
_______ ENGINE DURING ENGINE OPERATION. THE AIR AND EXHAUST FLOW FROM THE ENGINES CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS, AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (12)
 Make sure the areas are clean and free of equipment, and that all persons are safe before you start an engine.

 (13)
 If you will operate the engine, make sure the airplanes, persons and equipment, and buildings, have sufficient protection from the air flow and heat from the engine.

 (14)
 You must keep a minimum distance of 15 feet between airplanes (Fig. 201).

 NOTE: This is necessary to get a sufficient area to turn the
____
 airplane.

 (15) Refer to AMM 09-20-00/201 for the data when you move the airplane with its power (taxi).
 NOTE: To taxi an airplane, it is necessary to use more than one
____ throttle position. The airplane position, type of area, and surface conditions affect the throttle position you will use. A high thrust position is necessary to start airplane movement. The thrust is then reduced to continue the movement.
